Dilston Solar Farm

The Dilston Solar Farm is a renewable energy project located on John Lees Drive in Dilston, Tasmania, developed in two distinct phases to enhance energy storage and solar generation capacity.

Phase 1 involves the installation of a 20 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). This phase enables the site to store renewable energy and manage electricity supply more efficiently, contributing to grid stability and peak demand support.

Phase 2 comprises the deployment of a 7 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) module, harnessing solar energy to generate clean electricity for the region.

The project is designed with an export capacity of 4.95 MW to the grid, ensuring a steady and reliable contribution of renewable power. Together, the solar and storage components enhance energy resilience, support decarbonisation goals, and provide a flexible solution for integrating renewable energy into the existing electricity network.

Currently, the project is in the development phase and is scheduled to commence construction in the second quarter of 2027.
