C&I Rooftop Solar

Rooftop Solar

Project Summary

The C&I Rooftop Solar and Battery Storage project pipeline is an initiative aimed at accelerating the adoption of clean, reliable, and cost-effective energy solutions for commercial and industrial (C&I) buildings. The project involves the deployment of distributed rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems paired with battery energy storage across multiple C&I properties throughout Tasmania.

Each site will be equipped with a solar PV system ranging from 100 kW to 200 kW and a battery energy storage system (BESS) between 100 kWh to 400 kWh, tailored to the specific energy demand profile and operational requirements of the facility. The integrated systems will reduce electricity costs, increase energy independence, provide backup power resilience, and contribute to Tasmania’s clean energy targets.

Key goals of the program include:

  • Reducing operational energy costs for businesses
  • Improving grid stability through distributed storage
  • Supporting Tasmania’s transition to a decarbonized energy sector
  • Empowering businesses to manage energy consumption with advanced monitoring systems
